Our philosophy
Conflict is a feature in most peoples lives. Our lack of understanding of it and fear of facing it is the cause of so much pain in the world. Conflict manifests on a daily basis in a multitude of forms and magnetite’s. Wars dominate whole communities existence. There is virtually no one who is not affected by Conflict in some way. What is the need then? Who needs to look at this? The question is not who does, but who does NOT?
Ben Yeger Talking about Conflict from nu project
The relationship between the conflicts we struggle with inside ourselves and those that manifest in the outer world are intrinsically linked and therefore finding ways to embody and face what we are feeling in conflict within ourselves is the starting point for resolving world conflict- it’s the only place we can start from.
Moving Conflict aims to reduce conflict and move towards inner and outer Peace through a deep enquiry into and understanding the root causes of inner and outer conflict. Moving conflicts offer is created out of the CfP model of working with and stepping into the shoes of the ‘other’ and humanising the enemy.
In Moving Conflicts we view conflict as a mirror from which there is infinite learning to be had and we teach that looking deeply into this mirror and embodying the essence of what we encounter, can and will transform it and how we relate to it. Our core invitation is that to transform Conflict we need to step towards it, step into the darkness that seems to engulf it, accept that it might not be easy and that we have everything we need to heal it. It is a Human capacity we possess and Moving Conflicts offers opportunities to be brave enough to take this step. It is an active enquiry where the solution is not yet known.
We draw on; Drama Therapy, Movement Medicine, The work that Reconnects, Creative Dialogue, Action learning and non violent communication techniques.
The work of Moving Conflicts will benefit anyone who chooses to step through the gateways we offer. Our purpose is to create safe platforms and opportunities to take steps beyond the stuck narratives conflict and its close allies- blame, fear, anger and separation regularly dictate to us.
Its an opportunity to expand our awareness, to understand how conflict features in our and everyone’s lives and how we can become active participants in transforming the stories we tell about conflict.
